Meeting at the pier and scenic driving from Messina port to Mount Etna, plenty of photo stops along the way, with our guide to understand the history and the unique nature of this magnificent Sicilian Volcano.
We will visit the typical village of Zafferana Etnea at the foot of the volcano, well known for the local products such as the honey, the extra virgin olive oil and the wines that they produce. At your pleasure (free of charge) the opportunity to enjoy a honey tasting session in a typical beekeeper workshop, including the local extra virgin olive oil and local wines.
We will then reach the volcanic area at 2.000 meters (6600 ft.) above the sea level, where we can admire and take an easy walk on the edge of the extinct craters “Crateri Silvestri” (dated 1892) and the recent lava flows (2001-2002) to admire an amazing moon landscape.
We will complete the tour with the visit of Taormina for a sightseeing of the most charming town in Sicily, we will visit together the “Piazzetta Belvedere” for a breathtaking view on the “Isola Bella” and we will take you at the entrance of the pedestrian street “Corso Umberto”.
You will enjoy at your own easily the visit of the most famous monuments of Taormina, such as the Ancient Theater, the Palazzo Corvaja, the Cathedral and the Central Square with a great view of Giardini Naxos’ bay. Good Sicilian food and excellent shopping are also available in Taormina.
